When the earthquake struck Haiti, we saw a similar spirit there as we had seen in Iraq - women determined to rebuild their lives and communities. It seemed natural to bring together an Iraqi candle and Haitian base in a gift that supports the work of Partners in Health, a medical relief organization in Haiti. Our unscented, deep berry soy blend pillar candle is handmade by women entrepreneurs in Iraq with the support of our partner Women for Women International. Using high quality U.S. and Canadian waxes and a natural cotton wick, this 3x4" pillar will burns brightly for 80 hours.

Our new, larger 6" candle plates are handcrafted in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti using recycled metal. Each is unique in its design with an ingenious angled center that enables you to level your candle on any surface. This design update helps ensures even, long-lasting light. Each plate is skillfully hammered and chiseled by hand, then finished to protect the metal.
